“ Chose this place mainly because I couldn’t get reservations for Mother’s Day lunch, and boy, were we in for a treat! This place had some of the best food my family has ever had. Standouts were their salmon and tiramisu. We are definitely coming back here (already bookmarked as a favorite!) ”
“ BASTA Agoura Hills. This is a great restaurant! The vibe: it's like going to an Italian friends house for dinner. During Your first trip, you don't know what to expect, but, everything that's put in front of you is delicious! The pasta is all made fresh in house. The owners, the fun family members you'd meet at your friends house. The salads, are truly fantastic, crisp and packed with flavor, large portions, so easy to share. Simply perfection. Pasta, is Fantastic, with, many varieties. Steaks are a thing of beauty, flavorful and totally delicious. Nights can be very busy though, so, I'd recommend lunch service or weekend days, as it will be easier to get a table. Did I mention the pistachio martini? Highly recommend. The wine selection is great as well. Try the Malbec with a steak, or, the braised beef short ribs. You'll be happy. The big florintine steak, isn't cheap, I'd recommend to share that one, be prepared for 125 ish for a two pounder. Totally worth it though. Overall, BASTA, has become a new favorite. The selection is awesome, just tell the server, if you are sensitive to salt, as some of the pasta, rely on cheese, that can be pretty salty to some. They will reduce the amount of cheese if needed. The bar staff are all fantastic, a shout out to Paul, Heather, Kaley, and Rose. Just to name a few. Highly recommend this restaurant. ”
“ Literally from start (pistachio martini) to finish (tiramisu) everything here is fantastic. The delicate aroma of smoked meat fills the air. The welcome of Severino (owner) is generous. Melt in the mouth braised short ribs are consistently perfect. Beautifully peppery arugula salad paired with a creamy buratta cheese and the Basta little gem salad dressed with a lemon thyme vinaigrette are equally satisfying and refreshing. Perfectly crispy crusted bread you dip into vinegar and olive oil. House made pasta that pairs so well with the short ribs. Excellent pistachio martini as well as the classic vodka martini (Chopin vodka) from a very well stocked bar. Choose your dolce from an exquisite tiramisu that, my friends, is not stale but fresh and perfect or a lovely butter cake that is the perfect finale to a fabulous meal. Yes. This IS the place to savor in Agoura, CA. Welcoming. Lovely. A home for those who desire deliciousness. Bravo. Indoor, bar or covered outdoor seating. Buon Appetito! ”
“ Great Italian restaurant with many options to choose from. We let our waitress recommend some items and were glad we did! The short ribs, while they didn't look like anything special, they were amazing. The food, service and overall experience were great. ”
“ First time visiting here. We met a friend here for lunch. We started with their delicious bread. We ordered and I got the Meatballs and Parpadelle. My wife ordered the Cavatelli alla Norcina in Truffle cream sauce. But, she switched the pasta to Parpadelle like mine. Our friend ordered a lunch salad. As an afterthought, we ordered a pizza with mushroom, sausage and ham. We ordered it to take home. Funny thing was that the pizza came out first. The three of us ate all but a couple slices, immediately! It was so good. Then our mains came. My Parpadelle was perfect and the tomato sauce was outstanding!! The meatballs were light and flavorful. I really enjoyed my meal. My wife's Parpadelle with truffle cream was very good. She also enjoyed it a lot! My friends salad was good but big. She took half home. At the end, my wife and I split a Tiramisu. As good as the pastas were, this was the highlight. Overall this is a really enjoyable restaurant. From the homemade pasta, to the incredible pizza and the outstanding Tiramisu, it was awesome. I don't say this lightly! The servers were helpful and authentic! Well worth the drive across the valley! ”
“ Went on a Thursday night and there was still a wait so I imagine this place is always busy. We waited about 35 minutes but there are other business there to keep you busy. We had the seafood pasta and the shrimp pasta. We do love seafood. Both were solid but we definitely agree that the seafood pasta was better. Would definitely recommend this place. It's not too expensive and the portions were decent. Food was good. Service was good too. Would definitely come back. ”
“ Basta is an amazing experience. The homemade pasta is nothing short of the absolute best. Their steaks are massive yet tender enough to cut with a butter knife. We eat there every chance we can. ”
“ Service is great. The food was amazing, you can really taste difference of the fresh ingredients paired with pasta made in house. The atmosphere was nice, not too loud but also not too quiet. Great spot for a date or a meal with friends or family. ”
